Discover how cante (flamenco singing) works in relation to flamenco guitar and flamenco dance, guided by three outstanding artists: Carlos Lobo, Michael McMahon and Lourdes Fernández.
In this 3-hour intensive workshop at Battersea Spanish, we'll explore the connection between singing, guitar and dance, helping you understand how they work together so you can dance with greater confidence, freedom, and a deeper understanding of the flamenco language.
Singers, guitarists and dancers are welcome. It will be a 3-hour workshop. The idea is to spend time to learning some cantes; then we can work a bit separately guitar, dance and singing and in the final part we'll focus on internalising everything we've learned and practising improvisation together within that palo.
A must for dancers, singers and guitarist who want to deepen their knowledge of flamenco to the next level.
Our on-site Spanish wine bar, La Bodega, will be open for the workshops, serving Spanish and South American drinks and bar snacks - think aceitunas, almendras ¡y más!
Our Flamenco workshops are ticketless events - we have a guestlist! We do not send physical or digital tickets for these events, so once you have booked you will receive a payment confirmation only. Once you arrive for the event, please approach the bar to let us know of your arrival.
Please note :
Once you have registered, we are unable to offer refunds for non-participation or non-attendance, for any reason. However, we require 6 confirmed registrations to launch each workshop. Therefore, if we do not reach this minimum number shortly before the scheduled start date, the class will either be postponed (by up to two weeks), or will be cancelled (with a full refund offered). If another workshop is running at the same level but a different time, this will be offered to you.
