Introduction to Argentine Tango — Complete Beginners

A fun, friendly and welcoming introduction to Argentine Tango!

Whether you’ve never danced before or simply want to discover the magic of Argentine Tango, this course is the perfect place to start.

 

In this 10-week beginners’ course, you’ll learn all the essential foundations of tango, including:

  • Classic tango figures and steps
  • Improvisation
  • The tango embrace
  • Musicality and rhythm
  • Body technique, expression and communication between partners

No previous dance experience is required. Come exactly as you are — no partner or special dance shoes are needed.

 

About the Course

Classes take place in the big, bright and beautiful downstairs studio at Battersea Spanish.

The 10-week term runs from 21st September to 23rd November.

We highly recommend joining the full 10-week course, as regular attendance will help you build your skills and progress more quickly — and the full course also comes with a discounted price.

We also understand that London life can be busy, so drop-in classes are available if you can’t commit to the full term.

Tango Teacher

Emma Lucia Reyes is a finalist of the Argentine Tango Championships U.K 2024 and winner of UK tango ambassadors cup 2023. 

She has over 10 years teaching experience teaching tango in the UK and Europe and loves nothing more than to share her passion for tango from beginners to more advanced students. Her classes focus on body technique, expression and communication within the couple. She performs regularly in the UK and has created and directed her shows which uses the language of Argentine tango to create contemporary narratives. Highlights including ’Auto/Erotic Tango’ premiering Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2024 and ‘Histoire Du Tango’ Bloomsbury Festival 2023.
