La Bodega

La Bodega is our very own in-house Spanish wine bar, serving drinks from across the Spanish-speaking world in a friendly, relaxed and authentically Spanish environment.

We also have authentic Spanish tapas available for parties and private events, or by special arrangement at any other time!

La Bodega is an extra special part of Battersea Spanish. We regularly host social events to promote Spanish and Latin American language and culture. These include Cocktails & Spanish Conversation nights (Friday nights), Conversation Club (Saturday mornings), Social Salsa evenings (Fridays), and Spanish film nights (Thursdays).

La Bodega is the perfect venue for private parties, wedding receptions and any private hire event looking for a unique and relaxed Spanish vibe.

Bar Opening Hours

  • Monday to Wednesday 17:30 - 22:00
  • Thursday 17:30 - 23:00
  • Friday 17:30 - 23:00
  • Saturday: 09:00 - 13:30

Our bar is closed after 13:30 on Saturday and all day Sunday, unless we are running a special event (see listings).

Special Events : During our weekend special events our bar is always open, but there is no food service unless specifically mentioned in the event listing. Please refer to the relevant event information page for details of special food arrangements.

Drinks

Our bar offers delicious cocktails, cava, wines, beers and spirits from across Spain and Latin America.

Never had a Pisco Sour? Our friendly bar team will be delighted to prepare for you this wonderful South American cocktail, or other popular classics from the Spanish- speaking world, such as a Margarita, Mojito or Bandarra al fresco!

If cocktails are not your thing, don't worry! We've collaborated with a specialist Spanish wine supplier to provide a delicious and very reasonably-priced selection of Spanish and South American wines, as well as cava, vermouth and a host of Spain's most popular beers.

La Bodega provides a friendly and welcoming space to enjoy authentic Spanish Tapas for parties and private events. Our Tapas menu has been designed to take you on a culinary expedition across the whole of Spain.

Our weekend event nights are very popular, and are often sold out. Tables in the bar can only be reserved for groups of 4 or more.

We have seating for 36 in the bar, plus outdoor tables when the weather is suitable. All tables in our bar accommodate 4 to 6 persons (plus one big table for 12). If there are less than 4 in your party, you should expect to share a table on busy nights.

Private Hire - our bar can be hired for private parties. Please refer to our Venue Hire page.

Bar Rules:

  • No food or drink to be brought in from outside and consumed on the premises at any time
  • No dogs allowed inside (but welcome at our outside tables, if well behaved)
  • Please always respect our neighbours and local community by keeping noise to reasonable levels when outside, and when departing

Events

We hold regular social Spanish events in our bar which are all open to the public as well as our own student community. These include Cocktails & Spanish Conversation every Friday from 6-8pm, Coffee & Spanish Conversation every Saturday morning 11am-1.30pm, and Social Salsa nights every Friday.

Our bar also hosts amazing "Juergas" (Flamenco live jam sessions from musicians, performers and dancers) and other live dance/music events.

This venue is an absolute gem. Firstly a visit to the tapas bar ‘La Bodega’ is an absolute must. Best to get there early as it gets quite busy. The seafood tapas was to die for, which we washed down with Sangria! We loved the film, shown in a small, intimate theatre, which was absolutely fine. Really looking forward to visiting this place again.

What an absolute hidden gem you wouldn’t have a clue this was here. Food was great the BEST tortilla I’ve ever had, including in Spain. Staff were absolutely FABULOUS super friendly and super efficient. My first time most certainly won’t be my last.
