La Bodega
La Bodega - a hidden gem - our very own Tapas Bar at Battersea Spanish, welcoming customers from both our own student community, as well as the wider public .
We regularly hold social events at La Bodega to promote Spanish language and culture, including Cocktails & Spanish Conversation nights, Coffee and Spanish conversation on saturday mornings, Social Salsa evenings, live music performances and even authentic Flamenco Juergas.
Bar Opening Hours and Food Service:
- Monday to Wednesday: 17:00 to 22:00. Food served 17:30 to 21:30
- Thursday to Friday: 17:00 to 23:00. Food served 17:30 to 21.30
- Saturday: 09:00 to 15:30. Food served 12:30 to 14:30
- Sunday: Closed (except for events or private parties)
Note : During Flamenco shows, gigs and performances, and other special events, menus and bar opening/closing times may vary significantly. Please refer to the relevant event information page for details. Please also note we are closed on all UK bank holidays.

Note - Tables cannot be reserved for those wanting only drinks. Reservations are only accepted for Tapas bookings. If less than 4 in a booking, you may be asked to share a table on busy nights.

- No dogs allowed inside (but welcome at our outside tables, if well behaved)
- Please respect our neighbours and local community by keeping noise to reasonable levels when outside
Drinks
Our bar offers delicious cocktails, cava, wines, beers and spirits from across Spain and Latin America. We also serve high-quality coffees, speciality teas, and of course soft drinks..
Never had a Pisco Sour? Our Spanish speaking bar team will be delighted to prepare for you this wonderful South American cocktail, or other popular classics from the Spanish- speaking world such as a Margarita, Mojito and Bandarra al fresco!
If cocktails are not your thing, don't worry! We've collaborated with a specialist Spanish wine supplier to provide a delicious and reasonably-priced selection of Spanish and South American wines, as well as cava and vermouth and a host of Spain's most popular beers.
Food
On Monday to Friday evenings we serve a delicious selection of Spanish Tapas. On Saturday evenings our centre is only open when we have special events on - and menus are dependent on the events - so please check with us if in doubt.
All food is cooked on site by our resident chef from Madrid, Angel. Our menu changes from day to day, with daily specials offered in addition to our most popular standards.
Angel's menu takes you on a culinary expedition across the whole of Spain.
As well as simple bar classics like Patatas Bravas, Croquetas (mushroom or chicken), Chorizo and Guacamole, our daily specials include:
- Pulpo a feira (Galicia) - Galician star tapa octopus served on a base of potato slices dressed with paprika and extra virgin olive oil
- Albondigas de bacalao (Aragon) - Salted bacalao and raisin meatballs cooked in confit tomato glaze
- Pimientos rellenos (Navarra) - Salted bacalao and hake stuffed piquillo peppers in red pepper cream
- Pinchitos (Andalucia) - Marinated pork belly skewers grilled and served with mojo picantee
- Chorizo a la sidra (Asturias) - Artisan chorizo ball sausages cooked in apple cider glace
- Pollo al ajillo (Madrid) - fine cut chicken cooked in a rich garlic, parsley and cognac glaze
- Cocido montanes (Cantabria) - Traditional stew made of beef ribs, Jamon, chicken, chorizo, pork belly and creamy butter beans
- Pisto con conejo (la manche) - Farmed rabbit cooked in a courgette, aubergine, leek and tomato pisto
- Caldero Negro (Murcia) - Mellow black rice with slices of confit monkfish and hake served with fresh alioli
- Salpicon de marisco - Seafood salad with adobo dressing made of octopus, blanched prawns, mussels, raw vegetables and picked onion

Events
We hold regular social Spanish events in our bar which are free of charge and open to the public as well as students on our courses. These include Cocktails & Spanish Conversation every Friday from 6-8pm, Coffee & Spanish Conversation every Saturday morning 10:45 -12:45, and Social Salsa nights from 8.30pm every Friday/ .
Our bar also hosts amazing "Juergas" (Flamenco live jam sessions from musicians, performers and dancers) and other live music events.

Private hire
Our self-contained bar, La Bodega, is available for private hire for birthday parties, receptions, work parties and other celebrations.
