By now, you’ve built up your confidence, your grammar toolkit is getting solid, and your Spanish is moving into the exciting space of real conversation — beyond just phrases. In Pre-Intermediate 3, it’s all about depth, expression, and making your Spanish feel like you.

This is the course where you move from “getting by” to really connecting — whether you’re describing an experience in Spanish film night conversation, debating tapas preferences at the bar, or talking about your latest travels at one of our cultural events.

This course is perfect for students who’ve completed around 75 hours of Spanish and are now able to navigate more nuanced conversations. You might still need a nudge here and there, but you’re ready to express your opinions, experiences, and comparisons in a much more personal way.

In our supportive and lively lessons, you’ll learn to:

Deepen your grasp of past tenses and use them confidently together

Describe and contrast past vs. present events and habits using the imperfect

Visit the doctor and explain symptoms

Give solid advice and commands using the imperative

Use ser vs estar with confidence (no more second-guessing!)

Debate and express your opinions clearly and respectfully

Talk about past incidents using the past continuous (great for storytelling!)

This is where your Spanish gets fun and flexible — not just in the classroom, but out there in the Battersea Spanish world: in our studio, café, wine tastings, board game nights, language events, and more. Talk about that bike crash story with the past continuous while sipping a Rioja. Debate movie endings in class and then carry it on at our next film club.
