If you love good food and good films you can’t miss our monthly Tapas & Film events! Every month we will screen an amazing Spanish or Latin American film (with English subtitles, no worries!) and you will be able to match it with the delicious food and drinks of our in house tapas bar The Tapas Room. The Tapas Room is one of London’s best tapas restaurants, with 5 locations across town.
How does this work?
The film event happens between 7pm and 9:30pm, so you can either eat and drink before the film, or after the film. Please allow yourself at least 1 hour for the meal.
You can secure your booking at The Tapas Room here (please note that the food and drinks are no included in the ticket price).
And of course make sure to book your film ticket right away as this is a very popular event and it will sell out quickly!
About this month’s film:
Carmen y Lola (2018) – is a beautiful Spanish drama directed by Arantxa Echevarría. In this film, her first feature, where she portrays a vibrantly realised sense of place and Spain’s gypsy community with a cast of non-professional gypsy actors. It tells the story of Carmen, who lives in a gypsy community in the suburbs of Madrid. Like every other woman she has ever met, she is destined to live a life that is repeated generation after generation: getting married and raising as many children as possible. But one day she meets Lola, an uncommon gypsy who dreams about going to university, draws bird graffiti and likes girls. Carmen quickly develops a complicity with Lola and they discover a world that, inevitably, leads them to be rejected by their families.
