Event Description

Every year Battersea Spanish travels abroad with its students in a journey of cultural immersion. This very special weekend trip is dedicated to those students who love music, dance, sun, good food, and above all: Flamenco!

Led by our beloved Flamenco teacher Carmen Igarza, we will be attending one of the most iconic and spectacular Flamenco Ferias in all of Spain: La Feria de Jeréz de la Frontera. World-known by its colours, lights, joy and magnificent horses, this is a must see in everyone’s lives. So why not experience it in the best company and with the best itinerary?

This trip is designed for people who dance flamenco, or not. The important thing is that you are passionate about Spanish music and dance! Please note that this is not a Spanish language trip. The activities will be in English, and is not for people looking to further their language skills. Please note that we only take a very limited amount of students in our always sold out trips, so be quick to secure your seat if this is an experience you don’t want to miss out!

Priority booking will be given to Battersea Spanish students. If you don’t learn with us but are interested in this trip, please email us to hola@batterseaspanish.com and we will put you in a waiting list.

Frequently Asked Questions

Carmen Igarza

Flamenco TeacherHola! My name is Carmen Igarza and I come from beautiful Albacete in Spain.  I am a professional Flamenco Dancer and Teacher who has been living in London for more than 15 years! As a dancer, I’ve had the privilege of performing around the UK with Alma Flamenca Company, touring major theatres including The Royal Albert Hall, Birmingham Hippodrome, Dublin Opera House and the Lowry Centre. I perform regularly at events and tablaos in London, including Ronnie Scott’s and currently I’m working with a number of dance companies as well as teaching. I like to combine very traditional Flamenco with a modern interpretation influenced by other dance styles and music, but deeply rooted in the Flamenco tradition.  I feel it is important to create a relaxed atmosphere where students are encouraged to express themselves and develop their personal styles through the enjoyment of this beautiful art form. I also love to have a good time with my students, so I look forward to seeing you in Battersea Spanish soon!
