Event Description

Bookings for this event open on May 1st.

That wonderful time of the year when our Flamenco students present to the public a choreography they have been creating and rehearsing in class has come!

This year we are very excited to be hosting this event in Theatre 503, a dear Battersea institution which has in its history hosted many plays that have gone on to the West End, and is a recognised London hub for new talent.

The students performances will be followed by a Flamenco show presenting London’s best flamenco artists.

The choreographic work, as well as the curation of the professional show, is in the hands of Carmen Igarza, London based Flamenco artist and dancer, and teacher of our Flamenco courses at Battersea Spanish.

Due to limited capacity and high demand, we advise you to book your ticket as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. The ticket includes a delicious welcome glass of cava!

The flow of the event is:

4:00pm: welcome drink at Theatre 503 foyer
4:30pm: show begins with an introduction by Carmen Igarza and students performances
5:00pm: intermission
5:15pm:  professional Flamenco show
6:00pm: end of the event

We have reserved an area at the pub downstairs, The Latchmere, so you are very welcome to stay for more celebratory drinks and food!

Frequently Asked Questions

Carmen Igarza

Flamenco TeacherHola! My name is Carmen Igarza and I come from beautiful Albacete in Spain.  I am a professional Flamenco Dancer and Teacher who has been living in London for more than 15 years! As a dancer, I’ve had the privilege of performing around the UK with Alma Flamenca Company, touring major theatres including The Royal Albert Hall, Birmingham Hippodrome, Dublin Opera House and the Lowry Centre. I perform regularly at events and tablaos in London, including Ronnie Scott’s and currently I’m working with a number of dance companies as well as teaching. I like to combine very traditional Flamenco with a modern interpretation influenced by other dance styles and music, but deeply rooted in the Flamenco tradition.  I feel it is important to create a relaxed atmosphere where students are encouraged to express themselves and develop their personal styles through the enjoyment of this beautiful art form. I also love to have a good time with my students, so I look forward to seeing you in Battersea Spanish soon!
