Event Description

Let’s end a year in which our Flamenco students have shown us like never before their love and commitment for Flamenco, with a gathering and celebration of joy and resilience!

Adapting to the times, the 2020 student Flamenco show will be a little bit different, but equally important and great!

The event is free, but you must book your ticket/s here so that we can share with you the zoom link where all the live streaming of the students choreographies and professional Flamenco show will happen.

Students will perform with their groups, each person from their home, and their teachers will virtually join all of them in their dance. After the students performances, we will enjoy a live streaming Flamenco show curated by Carmen Igarza, featuring some of London’s top Flamenco artists. Carmen and Carlos Otero will dance, Carlos will also be in percussion, and Angus Cruickshank will play the guitar. At the very end of the show, our wonderful students will join again for a fin de fiesta!

The agenda of the day is:

4pm: opening to the event
4:05pm-4:45pm: students choreographies
4:45pm-5:15pm: professional Flamenco show
5:15pm-5:25pm: fin de fiesta with professional musicians and all our teachers and students!
5:25pm: closing of the event

We hope you will join us in this very special celebration of community, joy and dance in an unforgettable year!

Frequently Asked Questions

Carmen Igarza

Flamenco TeacherHola! My name is Carmen Igarza and I come from beautiful Albacete in Spain.  I am a professional Flamenco Dancer and Teacher who has been living in London for more than 15 years! As a dancer, I’ve had the privilege of performing around the UK with Alma Flamenca Company, touring major theatres including The Royal Albert Hall, Birmingham Hippodrome, Dublin Opera House and the Lowry Centre. I perform regularly at events and tablaos in London, including Ronnie Scott’s and currently I’m working with a number of dance companies as well as teaching. I like to combine very traditional Flamenco with a modern interpretation influenced by other dance styles and music, but deeply rooted in the Flamenco tradition.  I feel it is important to create a relaxed atmosphere where students are encouraged to express themselves and develop their personal styles through the enjoyment of this beautiful art form. I also love to have a good time with my students, so I look forward to seeing you in Battersea Spanish soon!
