Sevillanas are a folkloric Andalusian style of Flamenco dance, enjoyed at ferias and festivals all over Andalusia and have been popularised throughout Spain. It is what you would be dancing if you go a feria in Andalusia, and a perfect entry door to the world of flamenco!
There are 4 coplas or parts in Sevillanas, and to learn them properly you need time. In this course you will learn the basics of all of them. Once this course is completed, you are highly advised to join the 'Sevillanas Proficiency" course, where you will be able to polish the steps and learn to decorate them with beautiful arm movements, so important for the complete learning of this dance.
Please note that you do not need a partner to join this class, and that during Covid the class will be taught with no physical contact (unless you enrol with your partner).
This in an 8-week course, with 8 weekly sessions of 1.5 hours.
For those who may have missed a class or are looking to brush up on their techniques at home, video tutorials specific to your class will be available on a weekly basis.
