Course Description

Lola Says is a wonderful course that any Spanish learner wishing to have a full immersion into the language should take. Students will read a book adapted to their level (a set of chapters assigned each week), and will work in class using the content of the book. Grammar will be used as a tool of communication and will be mixed (present, past, future when needed), given the student the flexibility to speak in a more fluent and natural way. The book we will use for this course comes with a CD containing the narration of the story, which is a great way to practice your listening skills.

We will work with the book “Lola Lago Detective: Vacaciones al sol” . This course is designed for students who have completed Beginner 3 (A1.3) and Pre-Intermediate I (A2.1) levels. This very engaging experience will also give you lots of useful Spanish vocabulary that you will use and practice in very interactive class activities.

By the end of this course you will have completed a whole book in Spanish: what a great achievement!

Students should purchase the book before the course starts. You can order it here.

There are 5 weeks of 90 minute Spanish Lessons in this course.

Learning Spanish in London obviously takes longer than if you were to study abroad, so be sure to supplement your courses with any one of our events that will help you to learn the language and love the culture!

Edoardo Torres

Profile photo of Edoardo Torres

¡Hola! My name is Luis Edoardo, and I was born in Nuevo Laredo Mexico, in the frontier with the US. I have always been an enthusiastic reader. I started writing poetry and plays because I wanted to be like Federico García Lorca one day. For 10 years I collaborated with a literary magazine and had the opportunity to meet and learn from many great Latin American writers. My plays have been published in different anthologies, staged several times and translated to English and German. I have also been teaching Spanish and literature to young people and adults for over 5 years, both in Mexico and the UK. These experiences motivated me to study for a master’s degree in Education of the Arts in Roehampton University. Some of my best professional experiences have been working in the Centre for the promotion of Literature, “Estación Palabra-Gabriel García Márquez” and being the coordinator of our very popular monthly Spanish Book Club where I can share my two passions: teaching and literature.
