Course Description

Lola Says is a wonderful course that any Spanish learner wishing to have a full immersion into the language should take. Students will read a book adapted to their level (a set of chapters assigned each week), and will work in class using the content of the book. Grammar will be used as a tool of communication and will be mixed (present, past, future when needed), given the student the flexibility to speak in a more fluent and natural way. The book we will use for this course comes with a CD containing the narration of the story, which is a great way to practice your listening skills.

We will work with the book “La llamada de La Habana” . This a multi-level course designed for students who have completed Pre-Intermediate 2 (A2.2), Pre-Intermediate 3 (A2.3), Intermediate 1 (A2.3) and Intermediate 2 (B1.1) levels. This very engaging experience will also give you lots of useful Spanish vocabulary that you will use and practice in very interactive class activities. The grouping and tasks will be such that will allow students of all the assigned levels to further their speaking and apply their grammatical knowledge.

By the end of this course you will have completed a whole book in Spanish: what a great achievement!

Students should purchase the book before the course starts. You can order it here.

There are 5 weeks of 90 minute Spanish Lessons in this course.

A great grammatical complement to this course is the short course for A2 (Pre-Intermediate 2 & 3 revision course).

Learning Spanish in London obviously takes longer than if you were to study abroad, so be sure to supplement your courses with any one of our events that will help you to learn the language and love the culture!

¡Hola! Born and brought up in the beautiful and (mostly) sunny city of Madrid. I studied Psychology at the Univerdad Complutense de Madrid which included a year in Berlin, a city not known for being sunny (especially in winter). Despite the change in temperature I really enjoyed my time there experiencing a new way of life in a new city. After graduation, I began teaching Spanish and English as both a volunteer and private tutor. My passion for teaching developed quickly and after completing my Certificate in Spanish Language Teaching among others training I decided to continue my career in London. I love being in the classroom and I’m always looking into new ways to make lessons as interesting, formative and inspiring as possible. Outside the classroom I love walking in the English countryside, life music and sitting down in front of my sewing machine. I look forward to seeing you soon ¡Hasta pronto!
