Join this incredible series of 4 sessions taught by renowned teacher and dancer Magdalena Mannion, on the origins and meaning of the main Flamenco Palos.
This series of classes, designed for flamenco dancers of all levels and flamenco enthusiasts, are a hands-on way to gain insight and understanding of the theory and music of flamenco. Through learning about the history of the art form and studying the “palos” (styles) of flamenco, these classes will allow you to deepen your experience as a dancer or spectator, appreciate the nuances of the form and heighten your own artistic expression.
There are 4 sessions of 60 minutes each in this series.
These sessions will be taught online using the learning platform Zoom (you need a good internet connection and a computer with camera). A link will be sent for you to join the virtual classroom. It's all very easy, and the good news is that you can join us from anywhere in the world! (the course time is London time).

Magdalena MannionMagdalena Mannion is a flamenco dancer/choreographer and teacher based between Madrid and London. She studied at Amor de Dios and Fundación Casa Patas in Madrid, and has a degree in Pedagogy of Flamenco, specializing in professional flamenco training from Conservatorio Superior de Danza Maria de Avila, Madrid. Magdalena is co-artistic director of the contemporary flamenco dance company Dotdotdot Dance, whose work includes a commission from Sadler’s Wells, and is a regular soloist in Madrid’s traditional flamenco venues, “tablaos”, such as Corral de la Morería, Café de Chinitas and Casa Patas, as well as touring internationally with different dance companies. Magdalena is a resident teacher at Flamenco Academy London, and has also been guest teacher at Casa Flamenco, Pekin. She is passionate about the history of flamenco and has a particular interest in traditional flamenco repertoire.
