Flamenco as an art form oozes passion and seductiveness. Originating in Andalucia, Spain, it has been danced for nearly 500 years, retaining all of its beauty and tradition throughout. And now, in the heart of Battersea in London, you have the chance to learn it too!
Have you recently completed our Introduction to Flamenco Class or do you already have a basic understanding of the dance? If your answer is yes, come and join our flamenco for beginners family!
In this 8-week course (with sessions of 1.5 hrs), you will:
- Focus on refining any already established skills in a fun and welcoming environment.
- Mingle with other beginners and make new friends.
- Master those beautiful steps and start piecing together beautiful routines.
You will also have the opportunity to perform in our annual Flamenco show along with other professional artists!
For those who may have missed a class or are looking to brush up on their techniques at home, video tutorials specific to your class will be available on a weekly basis.
While Flamenco shoes are recommended, please do not worry if you are still yet to acquire any. Just make sure your shoes are comfortable and durable enough to protect your ankles (and no rubber soles!). For the ladies, if you have a Flamenco skirt, please bring it along! Whilst it also compliments the full Flamenca outfit, it gives you a brilliant chance to begin learning the moves, skirt in hand. Over the duration of the course, it is advisory that the appropriate footwear and garments are purchased to increase the authenticity of your learning process.
Please be aware, it is very common to complete a level three times before progressing to the next. Everybody learns at their own pace and we wish to accommodate that as best as possible so your teacher will only assess you when you are ready to advance.
