Course Description

Your novice days are almost behind you! Beginner III (A1.3 according to CEFR) is a Spanish course designed for Beginner Spanish students with an equivalent of 30 hours of study. You are already able to speak and understand the language under concrete but less controlled situations and you can give basic opinions. In these Spanish classes you will learn:

  • to express likes and dislikes, make choices, and to agree or disagree with others
  • to talk about the weather
  • to talk about basic daily routines in specific times
  • to buy clothes in a shop
  • to get around a city, give directions, find the best tapas, and schedule plan

This Spanish course spans 15 hours of Spanish study in 10 weeks. Please note that there is no class on August 26th due to bank holiday, so this course will end on September 23rd.

It covers A1.3 in the Common European Framework. See the entire curriculum here to know what comes next!

Think you will miss a class or two? No problem! Through our online platform you can easily catch-up. You can even arrange a catch-up class with your teacher if you would like to. Catch-up classes can be booked HERE.

Learning Spanish in London obviously takes longer than if you were to study abroad, so be sure to supplement your courses with any one of our events that will help you to learn the language and love the culture!

Irene Martínez

Spanish Instructor

¡Hola a todos! My name is Irene Martínez and I come from the beautiful and sunny Córdoba in Spain. I was led into the world of art by my grandfather, a well-known Chilean artist. I studied a degree in History of Art at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. After graduating, I started working with children in the field of arts and Spanish learning, and it was soon clear to me that in this juncture, laid my real passion and talent. I enrolled in the Cervantes Institute Diploma for Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language and started working at Battersea Spanish teaching children and adults. I am as well the coordinator of our Spanish for Children Programme.  I am a caring and engaging teacher, who is always looking for ways to adapt the lessons to the needs of her students, in order to make them meaningful. ¡Saludos y nos vemos pronto!
